Required Experience: Minimum of one year of ICU experience.

Summary: The ICU RN provides comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill adult patients requiring continuous monitoring, advanced interventions, and complex clinical decision-making. The RN functions as a patient advocate, clinical expert, and collaborative team member within a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Care for critically ill adult patients, including those requiring mechanical ventilation, vasoactive infusions, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, and post-operative or post-procedural critical care.
- Perform ongoing, detailed patient assessments and reassessments.
- Interpret and respond to cardiac rhythms, lab results, arterial blood gases, and hemodynamic data.
- Titrate medications per provider orders and unit protocols.
- Identify subtle changes in patient condition and initiate timely interventions.
- Manage emergency situations, including codes, rapid deterioration, and complex procedures.

Good communication, proactive nature, strong initiative, integrity, responsibility, commitment to patient and family advocacy, problem-solving skills, good teamwork, and a foundational knowledge of pathophysiology.

BLS, ACLS, NIH required.
