Job\nSummary: The Physical Therapist Assistant\nis responsible for administering physical therapy treatment plans designed to\nalleviate pain, restore function, prevent disabilities, and promote overall\nfitness and health of patients. Implements\ntreatment most appropriate to the patients learning style and therapeutic\nneeds, communicating goals with the patient and/or family members, considering\npsycho-social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patients and/or families based\non plan of care developed by the Physical Therapist.Provides\ntherapeutic interventions for a wide variety of physical and/or functional\nlimitations related to, but not limited to musculoskeletal, neurological,\ncardiovascular, and developmental impairments, documenting progress with\nmeasurable and functional goals.Maintain patient records according to hospital policy,\ncompleting progress and treatment notes, charges, and discharge summaries\nwithin regulatory and departmental time guidelines.Assists in adjusting schedules to accommodate changes in caseload in the\ndepartment. Meets with PT on regular basis to discuss patient and set\ngoals. Contributes to the\noverall performance of the department through professional development\nstrategies, including, but not limited to competency\ntraining, clinical instructor, in service coordination, program leader,\nattendance of meetings, mentor to new hires and performance improvement ideas.Demonstrates\ncontinued professional growth through setting goals and participating in\neducation offerings, independently achieve and maintain CEUs for SC LLR.Communicates\nwith physicians, other medical personnel and members of the interdisciplinary\nmedical team regarding treatment provided, patients progress or\ncomplications, recommendations, and clarification of orders.Utilizes\nappropriate health and safety equipment to protect both patients and staff.\nEnsures an orderly, clean and safe work area. Performs other duties\nas assigned.
