Description
FSN is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The Postpartum RN provides comprehensive care to mothers and newborns following delivery, ensuring safe recovery, promoting bonding, and supporting families through education and emotional support during the postpartum period.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to postpartum patients and newborns.
- Monitor maternal recovery, including vital signs, uterine assessment, and incision/wound care.
- Assess and monitor newborn health, including feeding, vital signs, and development.
- Support and educate mothers on breastfeeding, newborn care, and postpartum recovery.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Recognize and respond to complications in both mother and newborn.
- Coordinate discharge planning and provide patient/family education.
- Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians, lactation consultants, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Maintain accurate documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Ensure adherence to hospital policies, infection control standards, and patient safety protocols.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program
- BLS certification.
- Strong clinical and patient care skills.
- 2+ years of experience in postpartum, labor & delivery, or maternal-child health.
