Description
FSN is seeking a compassionate and skilled Psychiatric Registered Nurse to join our Behavioral Health team. The Psychiatric RN provides direct nursing care to patients experiencing mental health and behavioral conditions, ensuring a safe, therapeutic environment while supporting recovery and stabilization.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and ongoing patient evaluations.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized care plans for psychiatric patients.
- Administer psychiatric medications and monitor for effectiveness and side effects.
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation for patients in distress.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment, ensuring patient and staff safety.
- Facilitate and participate in group therapy sessions and patient education.
- Document patient behavior, progress, and care interventions in EHR systems.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Monitor patients for signs of self-harm, withdrawal, or behavioral changes.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of [State].
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program
- BLS certification.
- Strong communication and patient care skills.
- 2+ years of experience in psychiatric or behavioral health nursing in a hospital setting
- Familiarity with EHR systems and behavioral health documentation.
