RN - PCU | Location: Winston-Salem, NC

Assignment Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) to provide high-standard care in a challenging setting. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with cardiac patients and be prepared to transition to a more intensive care environment.

Assignment Details

  • Start Date: End of September 2026/Beginning of October 2026
  • Shift: 3x12 Nights
  • Estimated gross weekly pay package: $2025 (negotiable)
  • Facility Type: Level 1 Trauma Designation, Teaching Hospital
  • Work Modality: On-site
  • Charting System: EPIC
  • Minimum Experience: 2 years of ICU or PCU experience, CVICU preferred
  • Floating: May float to other units within scope of practice
  • Orientation: NEO and 2 shifts of orientation on shift hired into

Responsibilities

  • Provide care to cardiac patients including CHF, cardiomyopathy, and post-CABG patients
  • Conduct wound care and dressing changes
  • Perform defibrillation, EKG interpretation, and manage sheaths
  • Administer and manage ventilatory support and arterial lines
  • Cater to post-surgical patients and assist with cardioversions
  • Care for Impella and vented patients once transitioned to ICU

Qualifications

Required:

  • Active RN license
  • BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
  • General nursing and ICU skills
  • Swanz and Impella experience

Preferred:

  • Experience with LVAD and post-cardiac transplant patients
