Assignment Overview
This travel assignment is for a Registered Nurse specializing in MedSurg/Telemetry. The role is in a Level 1 Trauma hospital that caters to orthopedic and trauma patients, as well as individuals with acute or chronic diseases. The ideal candidate should have strong clinical assessment and med-surg nursing skills with a background in providing care in a similar high-acuity setting.

- Shift Details: 12-hour shifts, 7A-7P or 7P-7A

- Estimated gross weekly pay package: $2250 (negotiable)
- Patient Ratios: RN: 1:4-6, LPN: 1:4-6
- Charting System: EPIC
- Technology/Equipment: Alaris IV Pumps, Pyxis Med Dispensing, Phillips Monitors
- Floating: All adult MedSurg/Telemetry units in house
- Orientation: 1 day of facility orientation followed by 2 days departmental
- Schedule: Rotating weekends with no on-call duties, holiday work required
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a Level 1 Trauma hospital
- Manage trach care, chest tube, and post-op wound monitoring
- Conduct IV insertion and central line management
- Interpret cardiac monitoring and telemetry
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams for patient care
- Plan discharges and educate patients, especially in renal and fluid management
Qualifications
Required:
- 2 years of Med/Tele RN experience
- BLS Certification
- Pass an EKG competency exam
- Proficiency in trach care, chest tube management, and PIV procedures
- Strong med-surg nursing skills
Preferred:
- ACLS Certification
- Medical-surgical or Nephrology nursing certification
