Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular ICU | Travel | Milwaukee, WI

Assignment Overview

This role is for a Registered Nurse specializing in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) within a dynamic critical care setting. The ideal candidate will have significant experience managing post-operative cardiac and thoracic surgery patients. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in advanced cardiac and respiratory care techniques.

Facility Type: Level II Trauma Center, Level III NICU, Magnet Designated, Comprehensive Stroke Center
Unit: 30 beds

Shift Details: 0700-1900 or 1900-0700
Assignment Length: Not provided
Weekly Pay: Estimated gross weekly pay package: $2565 (negotiable)
Local Candidate Policy: Will accept first-time travelers if they meet experience criteria
Charting System: EPIC

Responsibilities

Provide care for immediate post-operative cardiac and thoracic surgical patients
Monitor invasive lines and manage cardiac devices
Administer cardiac medications and manage ventilator/trach
Interpret cardiac rhythms
Collaborate with CVICU intensivist and other medical staff
Float to other ICU units as needed

Qualifications

Required:

3 years of ICU experience with 1 year in CVICU
BLS, ACLS certification
Competence in invasive line monitoring and cardiac device management
Experience with EPIC

Preferred:

CCRN certification
Specific CV surgical experience (ECMO, CVVH, IABP, VAD)
