Registered Nurse - Emergency Room | Travel | Chicago, IL

Assignment Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Emergency Room in an urban, Level I Trauma setting. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a high-acuity environment and be comfortable working in teaching hospitals. This position is ideal for those ready to engage in a fast-paced ER setting.

Patient Ratios: 1:4
Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
Local Candidates: Accepted
Charting System: Epic

Responsibilities

Provide patient care in a high-acuity, Level I Trauma Emergency Department
Administer emergency medications and manage acute conditions
Perform arterial line management and ventilated patient care
Interpret arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias
Manage traumatic injuries and psychiatric emergencies
Collaborate with interdisciplinary support services

Qualifications

Required:

1 year of experience in an urban, Level I Trauma ED
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS
Skills: Emergency care, ventilated patient management, trauma response

Preferred:

Certifications: TNCC, CPI
Experience in a teaching hospital
