Assignment Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This position involves providing specialized care to patients experiencing heart failure, chest pain, respiratory and renal failure, and other complex medical conditions. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills and a minimum of 18 months of PCU experience.

Assignment Details

  • Shift: 3x12 Nights
  • Estimated gross weekly pay package: $2160 (negotiable)
  • Start Date: Not provided
  • Assignment Length: Not provided
  • Local Candidate Policy: Traveler's permanent address must be 50 miles outside of the home unit
  • Charting System: EMR - Epic
  • Support: CNA, receptionist/HUC, charge nurse, phlebotomy, IV/VAT Team, RT (24/7), hospitalist (24/7), intensivist
  • Technology: Alaris IV Pump, Omnicell med dispensing, Phillips monitors
  • Floating: Required to float to all units within scope and region, as needed
  • Scheduling: Weekend rotation every other week, no call, work 75% of holidays
  • Orientation: Includes NEO and 2 days departmental

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in the PCU setting
  • Conduct cardiac rhythm interpretation and manage titratable drips
  • Perform trach care, PIV starts, and chest tube management
  • Handle medication gtt management, including cardiac drips and insulin
  • Manage various drains and tubes (Dobhoff, PEG, etc.)

Qualifications

Required:

  • 18 months of PCU experience
  • BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
  • Proficiency in general PCU skills, including stroke experience and cardiac rhythm interpretation

Preferred:

  • Experience as a first-time traveler considered but not preferred
