Assignment Overview

Seeking a Registered Nurse with Med Surg experience to join the Float Pool in a dynamic hospital setting. The ideal candidate will have experience in Med Surg environments and be comfortable with a broad range of patient types, including general medical, surgical, orthopedic/neuro, and cardiac care. The role involves flexibility to float to various units, providing comprehensive care to diverse patient groups.

Assignment Details

• Shift Details: 3x12-hour nights, 18:45-07:15 or 06:45-19:15

Responsibilities

• Administer general medical, surgical, and orthopedic/neuro care
• Float to ER Holding/Boarding and other hospital units as needed
• Manage patient ratios: Days 1:4-6, Nights 1:6
• Perform IV management, chest tube care, and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Utilize EPIC for patient documentation
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including Hospitalists, RT, OT, PT, and ST

Qualifications

Required:

• Minimum 2 years Med Surg experience
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
• Proficient in EPIC EMR system
• Competency in managing chest tubes, trach management, IV skills
• Cardiac rhythm interpretation, insulin and heparin/argatroban management
• Experience with titrating drips: Cardizem and Amiodarone
