Assignment Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). The ideal candidate will possess strong nursing skills and have the expertise required to provide high-quality care for adult and geriatric patients. This role requires flexibility, as the nurse will be expected to float to overflow areas as needed.

Assignment Details

• Estimated gross weekly pay package: $2430 (negotiable)
• Shift: 3x12 Nights
• Weekend requirements apply
• Floating required to 9 BT units plus overflow areas
• Patient ratOS days: 4, nights: 5, weekends: 5
• Pre-approved time off: one
• Orientation hours: 12
• Patient age groups: Adults, Geriatrics
• Daily census: 24
• Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Transportation, Unit Secretary

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to assigned patients
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Monitor patient vital signs and adjust treatments as necessary
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop care plans
• Educate patients and families about care and medication instructions

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience

Preferred:

• Charting System experience
• Telemetry skills
