RN (Registered Nurse) | RN-OR | Chicago, IL

Assignment Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for the Operating Room (OR) specializing in General Surgery. The ideal candidate should have substantial experience in general, gynecology, and urology surgeries. A strong background in EPIC and experience in facilities similar in size is preferred. This role is ideal for a nurse looking to provide exceptional care in an acute care setting.

Assignment Details

Facility Type: Acute Care
Shift Details: 10-hour shifts, with potential call requirements
Call Requirements: Weeknight and weekend call, with specific call hours assigned; 30-minute response time required
Floating Requirements: Possible to other surgery teams if qualified
Dress Code: Hospital provided scrubs
Charting System: EPIC
Estimated gross weekly pay package: $3672 (negotiable)

Responsibilities

Provide care in the operating room for a variety of surgical cases including general surgery, gynecology, urology, and ENT
Collaborate with surgical technologists and charge nurses to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Participate in unit-specific orientation and comply with hospital-wide protocols
Adhere to all hospital policies, including drug-free workplace and response times for on-call duties

Qualifications

Required:

Active IL RN License or application in process
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Minimum 2 years of experience in general, gynecology, and urology surgeries
Proficiency with EPIC EMR system

Preferred:

Experience in facilities with similar volume and complexity within the last 2 years

PEL/VIP Job ID #66122232. Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
