Requirements
- Active RN license in Tennessee (or eligible for TN licensure)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Experience in progressive care / step-down (PCU) nursing
- Competence in post-cardiac catheterization care including TR band management
- Skills with advanced pulmonary treatments and medication titration
- Comfortable using Meditech electronic documentation and common devices (GE monitors, Nova glucometers, Pyxis)
- Available to work every other weekend and float per unit rotation
- Strong teamwork, positive attitude, and problem-solving abilities
Responsibilities
- Provide progressive care nursing for a 12-bed PCU with typical patient ratios of 4:1
- Manage post-cath patients, including TR band care and monitoring after procedures
- Administer and titrate medications and deliver advanced pulmonary treatments as needed
- Document patient care in Meditech and use unit equipment (monitors, glucometers, Pyxis) accurately
- Participate in unit communication practices (AIDET, communication board) and perform medication teaching
- Collaborate with a small team (one tech assigned to unit) and float according to the unit’s rotation policy
- Follow unit dress code and policies, including wearing charcoal gray scrubs
