Requirements
- Active RN licensure
- BLS certification
- Transfer training (required)
- EMR proficiency (Meditech experience preferred)
- Ability to perform patient transfers and use transfer equipment (Hoyer lift, sliding boards)
- Willingness to float to Med-Surge, Tele, Renal, Urology, Orthopedic, and overflow units
- Ability to work nights, every other weekend, and occasional holidays
- Rehab experience and rehab scoring documentation (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for a 15-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit, managing typical patient ratios around 5:1 (up to 6:1)
- Perform patient transfers using mechanical lift devices and assistive equipment
- Conduct bladder scans, administer medications, and perform dressing changes and wound care
- Document care and rehab scoring in the EMR (Meditech) and utilize Pyxis for medication management
- Participate in bedside report/handoff, hourly rounding, and ensure bed alarm activation
- Collaborate with unit charge nurses, CNAs, and the multidisciplinary team to maintain safe, effective patient care
- Float to designated units as needed to support census and staffing needs

Job Description
Travel RN needed for a night-shift role on an inpatient rehabilitation unit in Corpus Christi, TX. The 12-hour assignment runs from April 27, 2026 through July 27, 2026 (91 days) and supports a 15-bed unit focused on post-acute rehabilitation care. The clinician will perform transfers, bladder scans, medication administration, dressing changes, and rehab-specific documentation while working with Meditech and Pyxis. Typical night staffing includes a charge nurse plus two RNs and one CNA. Candidates must have transfer training, active RN licensure, and BLS; prior rehab experience and familiarity with rehab scoring are preferred. Expect every-other-weekend schedule and occasional holiday coverage, with float expectations across med-surg, telemetry, renal, urology, orthopedic, and overflow units.
