Requirements
- Active RN (Registered Nurse) with perioperative/PACU experience
- BLS certification required
- OR circulator experience required; scrub experience a plus
- Strong background in orthopedic trauma and ability to manage crani procedures independently
- Familiarity with Meditech EMR
- Able to work weekend and evening/night schedules and maintain 1:1 patient ratios
- Team-oriented, adaptable under pressure, positive attitude
Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative and post-anesthesia care, functioning as an OR circulator and supporting PACU responsibilities
- Manage one-to-one patient care following surgical procedures across specialties (orthopedics, spine, ENT, urology, vascular, robotics, etc.)
- Independently handle complex cases including crani procedures and support robotic-assisted operations
- Document patient care and communicate effectively with the surgical team using Meditech
- Adhere to unit policies, sterile technique, and established staffing/shift schedules (including weekend/night coverage)

Job Description
We are seeking a travel RN with perioperative and PACU expertise to support a hospital in Salem, VA for a 13-week assignment starting 03/30/2026. The role requires OR circulator experience, comfort with high-acuity orthopedic trauma cases, and the ability to independently manage crani-related procedures. The position supports a busy operating room environment (11 ORs) with varied specialties including robotics and spine; care is documented in Meditech. The schedule is based on a 36-hour work week and includes evening/overnight and weekend coverage. Ideal candidates are adaptable, perform well under pressure, and collaborate effectively with scrub techs, surgeons, and charge staff.
