Description
Are you a Registered Nurse with inpatient psychiatric or behavioral health experience looking for a meaningful and unique opportunity in Alaska? Cell Staff has partnered with the Alaska Department of Corrections to place RNs on a dedicated Acute Psychiatric Unit in Anchorage — the only acute inpatient psychiatric unit for male offenders in the state. We have 3 openings across two shifts and we're looking for skilled clinicians who thrive in a structured, high-acuity psychiatric environment and want to make a real impact.
Registered Nurse Details- 3 openings total — 2 night shift, 1 evening shift
- Night shift: 8:00 pm to 7:30 am (11.5-hour shifts)
- Evening shift: 12:00 pm to 11:30 pm (11.5-hour shifts)
- 7 days on, 7 days off
- Every other weekend required
- 13-week contract with option to extend
- Start: ASAP
- Location: Anchorage, Alaska
- Provide hospital-level nursing care to acutely and chronically mentally ill patients in a structured inpatient psychiatric unit
- Medication management, mental status monitoring, stabilization, and patient observation
- Support diagnostic clarification and individualized treatment in a highly structured therapeutic environment
- Collaborate with on-site correctional and clinical staff to ensure patient safety and continuity of care
- Active Alaska RN license (or actively pursuing)
- Current BLS (American Heart Association)
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience; inpatient psychiatric, corrections mental health, or acute behavioral health experience strongly preferred
- Comfortable working in a secure, structured psychiatric setting
- Must be able to clear a State of Alaska background check
- Covid vaccine not required
- Local rate: $63.00/hr
- Travel package: $23.00/hr + $1,800/week in travel stipends
