About

The largest city on the Illinois River, Peoria's downtown offers scenic views of the water, with the Peoria RiverFront district one of the oldest urban areas in the state. It attracts visitors and locals of all ages as a prime spot for outdoor festivals, concerts and gatherings and offers outstanding restaurants, cultural centers and a river trail. The Riverfront Museum focuses on history, art and science and features five major permanent galleries and rotating exhibits. Over 9,000 acres of parkland, including the Luthy Botanical Garden and Peoria Zoo, attract nature lovers near and far. And everyone enjoys the seasonal Peoria RiverFront Market and Peoria Farmers Market at Metro Centre and their vast array of fresh, local fruits, vegetables, herbs, flowers, baked goods, honey and more.
