Patient Ratio: 1:4
Floating: Required to other MedSurg/Oncology units of equivalent or lower acuity

Compensation,
Weekly Gross Pay: $2498
Blended Pay Rate: $69.39/hour
Taxable Pay: $27.00/hour ($972/week)
Housing & Meals Stipend: $1526 weekly

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit specializing in medical oncology. Nurses will care for adult and geriatric patients with various cancer diagnoses and medical conditions. The unit focuses on cardiac monitoring, symptom management, chemotherapy-related care, infection prevention, and fall prevention.
Oncology experience is preferred but not required.

Position Requirements
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• Current acute-care experience in the applying specialty, with consistent work within the last 12 months
• Recent Medical-Surgical/Telemetry experience required
• EPIC experience required
• Active Ohio RN license or valid compact RN license in hand at submission
• Basic Life Support (BLS/BCLS) certification required
• Ability to interpret cardiac dysrhythmias
• Experience with IV starts and IV therapy
• Ability to manage central lines and PICC lines
• Experience with blood product administration
• Ability to provide safe care to patients requiring cardiac monitoring
• Willingness to float to units with equivalent or lower acuity
• Graduation from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program

Preferred Qualifications
• Oncology nursing experience
• Previous travel nursing experience
• Teaching hospital experience
• Experience accessing and managing ports
• Arterial line management
• Chest tube care and assistance with insertion/removal
• High-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) management
• Interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Chemotherapy administration experience

Patient Population & Clinical Responsibilities
• Care for patients with breast, lung, prostate, pancreatic, colon, and esophageal cancers
• Provide care for patients experiencing sickle cell crises
• Support patients receiving antineoplastic chemotherapy
• Monitor cardiac rhythms during chemotherapy-related treatment
• Manage symptoms related to disease progression and treatment
• Provide central line, PICC line, and IV care
• Maintain strict infection prevention and fall prevention practices
• Manage comorbidities and respond to clinical emergencies

Required Certifications
• Basic Life Support (BLS/BCLS)
• Valid Ohio or compact RN license at the time of submission
