Weekly Gross Pay: $3,486
Blended Pay Rate: $726/hour
Taxable Pay: $21.00/hour ($1,008/week)
Housing & Meals Stipend: $2,478/week
Shift Details:
Days: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Schedule: 3×12 or 4×12 hours
Shift: Variable / Rotating
Call: Not required
Weekend: Required; weekend coverage may be more frequent than every other weekend based on staffing needs
Block Scheduling: Not available
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical/Oncology (MS/Onc) for a travel assignment in Anchorage, Alaska.
The ideal candidate will have strong acute-care Medical-Surgical nursing experience. Oncology experience is preferred but not required, and experience with chemotherapy administration is highly desirable.
The RN will provide comprehensive patient care in an acute hospital environment and may float to like units within their scope of practice based on facility needs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide safe, comprehensive nursing care to Medical-Surgical and oncology patients.
• Perform thorough patient assessments and monitor changes in condition.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care.
• Administer medications and treatments according to provider orders and facility protocols.
• Monitor patients for complications and respond appropriately to changes in condition.
• Provide oncology-related nursing care; chemotherapy experience is preferred.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Educate patients and families regarding medications, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
• Accurately document patient care using Epic EMR.
• Float to like units within the RN's scope of practice as needed.
• Follow hospital policies, infection-control standards, and patient-safety practices.
Requirements:
• Active Alaska RN license or pending Alaska RN license
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience
• BLS certification required
• Medical-Surgical nursing experience
• Oncology experience preferred, but not required
• Chemotherapy administration experience preferred
• Ability to work variable/rotating day and night shifts
• Ability to float within scope of practice
• Strong clinical judgment, assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills
• Alaska RN License Information
