Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Start Date: November 30, 2026
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Night Shift
Schedule: 3 × 12-hour shifts
Shift Timing: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Hours: 36 hours per week
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday
Compensation
Weekly Gross Pay: $3,215
Blended Pay Rate: $89.3/hour
Taxable Pay: $30.00/hour ($1,080/week)
Housing & Meals Stipend: $2,135 weekly
Position Overview:
Seeking experienced Registered Nurses for a Surgical Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU).
This opportunity is ideal for nurses with recent Surgical Stepdown experience at a Level I Trauma Center. The unit provides intermediate-level care to complex postoperative patients transferred from the PACU or Surgical ICU.
Unit Details:
• 38-bed Surgical IMCU.
• Average patient ratio: 1:3, 1:4, or 1:4–5 for Med-Surg patients.
• Patient population includes:
• Cardiothoracic surgery
• Vascular surgery
• Neurosurgery
• Trauma
• Transplant patients
Required Qualifications:
• Active Massachusetts RN license.
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care nursing experience.
• Must have Surgical Stepdown experience at a Level I Trauma Center.
• Recent IMCU/Stepdown experience.
• Experience with automated medication dispensing systems.
• More than one previous travel assignment required.
• Must independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips.
• Must successfully pass the Telemetry Test and Critical Care Medication Test on Day 1.
Previous permanent staff members of the facility are not eligible to submit as travelers..
Preferred Experience:
• Previous experience in a tertiary care facility.
• Experience caring for complex postoperative and high-acuity surgical patients.
