This is an award-winning Level II Trauma Center in Topeka, Kansas! We are seeking candidates who are comfortable working in a fast-paced, short-term acute care environment that manages a wide variety of patient diagnoses. The Admissions Pending Unit (APU) is designed for rapid patient throughput, with an ideal length of stay of 4 hours or less. During this time, nurses are responsible for: • Initiating admission orders • Completing the admission navigator • Documenting the initial admission assessment The ideal candidate will: • Be a self-starter who can work independently with minimal oversight • Demonstrate the ability to adapt quickly and remain efficient in a dynamic, high-volume environment • Have experience managing cardiac and anticoagulant drips, for example Cardizem and Heparin We are looking for individuals who thrive in a setting that requires strong time management, clinical judgment, and flexibility to support rapid patient progression through the admission process.
