Medical Surgical RN (Post-Surgical) - Topeka, KS

Job Description
Join the award-winning team on 7 South at Stormont Vail Health, a Magnet-designated tertiary hospital recognized for nursing excellence and high-reliability patient care. This 32-bed post-surgical unit focuses on acute recovery for patients following complex abdominal, colorectal, urological, and orthopedic procedures. Clinicians enjoy a highly collaborative setting with 1:6 ratios, modern facilities, and a supportive team culture that prioritizes patient safety and caregiver well-being.

Requirements

1+ years of recent Medical-Surgical experience in an acute care setting (No first-time travelers)

Active Kansas RN License or valid Multistate/Compact RN License (clean license history)

Active AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification at time of submission

Flexibility to float to other post-surgical and inpatient Med-Surg units as needed

Core clinical skills in postoperative wound/drain management, ostomy care, and surgical recovery protocols

Compliance readiness including immunizations (Hep B, MMR, Varicella titers/series, TDaP, Flu, TB documentation)

Preferred Qualifications

Progressive Care (PCU) or Step-Down clinical experience

Prior charting experience with Epic EHR (test-out option available)

ADN or BSN degree from an accredited institution

Prior travel nursing contract experience

Level 1 Job ID #19654. Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
