Job Description
Join the Magnet-designated nursing team at Stormont Vail Health for a rewarding day-shift assignment on the Spine Center unit (Post-Surgical: Trauma, Neurosurgery, Orthopedic). On this specialized 27-bed unit, you will deliver post-operative and acute care to patients recovering from complex spinal surgeries, neurosurgical procedures, traumatic brain injuries, and acute trauma alongside an interprofessional team. Practice within an engaging, high-reliability culture dedicated to patient safety, clinical excellence, and continuous professional growth.

Requirements

1+ years of recent clinical experience in an acute care Med/Surg, Trauma, or Ortho/Neuro setting (no first-time travelers)

Active Kansas (KS) State License or Compact/Multi-State License (unencumbered)

Active AHA BLS Certification

Floating flexibility to other inpatient Med/Surg and post-surgical units as needed

Day 1 essential clinical competencies in post-op spinal/neurosurgical care, acute trauma management, and Epic EHR charting (Navy Blue scrubs required)

Preferred Qualifications

Direct clinical experience handling post-op spinal, neurosurgical, or acute trauma patient populations

Systems knowledge and proficiency with Epic EHR charting (test-out option available)

Previous travel contract experience in an acute care hospital setting
