Required Licenses and Certifications
SLP License: A current, active, and unencumbered Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license in the applicable state, or ability to obtain one.
Education: Graduation from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program, typically with a Master’s degree (MS/MA) in Speech-Language Pathology.
ASHA Certification: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA, or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) eligibility.
Clinical Experience: Experience conducting speech, language, communication, and swallowing evaluations and treatments.
Treatment Planning: Ability to develop, implement, and update individualized treatment and discharge plans based on patient needs.
Documentation: Ability to accurately and timely document evaluations, treatment sessions, patient progress, and discharge information in accordance with regulatory and facility requirements.
Patient Care & Communication: Strong communication, clinical reasoning, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams.
Compliance: Ability to follow state/federal regulations, infection control, patient safety, and facility compliance standards.
