Independence Center is a community-based rehabilitation program for adults with severe and persistent mental illnesses in the St. Louis area, built on the Clubhouse model of psychosocial rehabilitation. Our vision is to become a nationally recognized leader in behavioral healthcare, eradicate the stigma of mental illness, and inspire a mental healthcare movement across the nation.
Position Details:
- Schedule: 830am-430pm Tuesday to Thursday with some flexibility
- No Call! No Weekends! No Holidays!
- Outpatient Psychiatric clinic specializing in serving patients with severe and persistent mental illness
- Required: Psych NP license
- Preffered: DEA license

Overview
BJC Behavioral Health is a community health center that provides and coordinates behavioral health services for more than 8,000 seriously mentally ill adults and seriously emotionally disturbed children in St. Louis City, St. Louis County, St. François, Iron and Washington counties. As an Administrative Agent of the Missouri Department of Mental Health (DMH), BJC Behavioral Health serves as a major point of entry for people eligible for mental health services funded by DMH and is responsible for serving as gatekeeper to the public mental health system.

Role Purpose
This job utilizes a high degree of knowledge, training, skill level, and competence in a specialized are of psychiatry and mental health. Assess, formulate a diagnosis, initiate an integrated treatment plan, coordinate interventions, and evaluate the process toward recovery of adults with severe, persistent, and debilitating mental illness within the scope of formal collaborative practice agreement with psychiatrist (MD)
