Description
Nexus MedPro Staffing is seeking an experienced MS/Tele Registered Nurse with Orthopedic experience for a 13-week travel assignment in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
This is a fast-paced General Orthopedics and Neuro Spine unit caring for orthopedic, post-surgical, trauma hip, and spine patients requiring strong pain-management skills.
Assignment Details
Weekly Pay: Up to $2,795/week*

Location: Winston-Salem, NC
Start Date: September 8, 2026
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Openings: 1
Shift: Nights, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
Schedule: 4×12-hour shifts / 48 hours per week
Scheduling: Self-scheduling
Block Scheduling: Yes
Patient Ratio: 1:6–7
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Floating: Required
Orientation: 36 hours
Travel Experience: Required
Pre-Approved Time Off: 1 request
Required Qualifications
2 years of inpatient acute care RN experience
1 year of Orthopedic experience preferred/targeted; facility may screen candidates with less than 1 year of Ortho experience
Previous travel nursing experience required
BLS
NIHSS
Epic experience required
MS/Tele experience
Orthopedic trauma experience
Total joint replacement experience
Neuro Spine post-surgical patient experience
Hip and traumatic hip experience
Pre/post neurosurgery
PCA management
Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
Rapid Response/Code Team experience
Blood product administration
Central and peripheral line management
Oxygen administration
Surgical drain management
Isolation precautions/PPE
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
ACLS
Telemetry experience
BiPAP/CPAP management
High Flow Nasal Cannula
Starting and maintaining IVs
Heparin protocols
Peripheral nerve block catheters
Spinal cord injury experience
Ortho & Neuro Spine Unit
You'll work on a 27-bed, fast-paced orthopedic and spine unit with an average daily census of approximately 22 patients.
Primary patient populations include:
Orthopedic patients
Ortho trauma
Hip and traumatic hip patients
Total joint replacements
Neuro Spine patients
Post-surgical patients
General Med/Surg patients
Because of the high orthopedic and post-surgical population, pain management is a major component of this assignment. Nurses must be comfortable administering and monitoring multiple pain medications while staying ahead of post-operative pain-control needs.

Strong organization, communication, and patient/customer service skills are important for success on this fast-paced unit.
