Description
Nexus MedPro is seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) for Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) inpatient units at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center.
This is an excellent opportunity for RNs with strong direct patient care experience who are comfortable supporting Veterans with spinal cord injuries, neurological conditions, rehabilitation needs, and complex medical care.
Position Details:
Pay: $50.00–$53.00/hour
Location:10701 East Boulevard Cleveland, OH 44106
Assignment: August 24, 2026 – May 31, 2027
Shift Schedule: Primary Nights - 7:30 PM – 8:00 AM(12hr)11:30 PM–8:00 AM (8hr)
Type: Full-Time Local Contract
Responsibilities
Perform patient assessments and ongoing monitoring
Administer medications and provide IV therapy
Provide bowel care and bladder management
Perform dressing changes and wound care
Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs)
Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams
Manage admissions, discharges, and internal/external transfers
Delegate appropriate duties to assistive personnel
Complete electronic medical record documentation
Assist with patient transport
Respond to emergency situations and follow emergency procedures
Monitor for respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurogenic complications
Provide rehabilitation support and adaptive training
Educate patients and families regarding spinal cord injury care and recovery
Prevent and manage pressure injuries and urinary tract infections
Provide psychosocial support and participate in discharge planning
Support rehabilitation and functional independence goals
Participate in quality improvement activities and staff meetings
Required Qualifications
Graduate of a professional nursing program accredited by ACEN or CCNE
Current Ohio RN license OR current multistate NLC license
Current American Heart Association CPR certification
Current American Heart Association BLS certification
Minimum 2 years of direct patient care experience within the last 3 years
Experience with rehabilitation, neurological, or spinal cord injury patients preferred
Strong electronic health record documentation skills
Ability to meet VA credentialing and mandatory training requirements
Ability to work days, nights, evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
Important VA Requirement
Your nursing program must be ACEN or CCNE accredited. Nursing education will be verified before submission to the Veterans Health Administration.
NCLEX passage or possession of a U.S. RN license alone does not satisfy this education requirement.
Candidates must also provide three professional references representing at least two employers and complete required VA credentialing and OIG verification.
