Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical-Surgical – Veterans Affairs | Cleveland, OH | $47–$50/Hour
Nexus MedPro Staffing is seeking experienced Registered Nurses for a contract position with the Veterans Health Administration (VA) supporting the Medical-Surgical units at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio.This opportunity is ideal for experienced RNs interested in providing acute inpatient nursing care to America's Veterans in a respected federal healthcare environment.
Position Details
Pay: $47.00–$50.00/hour
Location: 10701 East Boulevard, Cleveland, OH 44106
Assignment: August 24, 2026 – May 31, 2027
Type: Full-Time Local Contract
Responsibilities
Patient assessments and ongoing monitoring
Medication administration
IV therapy and fluid replacement
Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm observation
Admissions, discharges, and transfers
EMR/EHR documentation
Central and peripheral line care
Heparin drip management
Chest tube and drainage tube management
Foley catheter and ostomy care
Wound care and wound vac therapy
Pain management
Pre-operative and post-operative nursing care
Blood product administration
Monitoring and responding to sepsis, respiratory complications, cardiac conditions, and other acute care needs
Emergency response
Interdisciplinary care coordination
RNs may be required to float between units based on staffing and patient-care needs.
Required Qualifications
Graduate of an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
Current Ohio RN or Compact (NLC) license
Current American Heart Association BLS/CPR
Minimum 2 years of direct patient care experience within the last 3 years
Medical-Surgical and/or acute care nursing experience
Ability to interpret telemetry and cardiac monitoring
EMR/EHR documentation experience
Ability to complete VA credentialing and mandatory training
Availability for assigned shifts, weekends, and holidays
Important VA Requirement
Your nursing program must be ACEN or CCNE accredited. Nursing education will be verified before submission to the Veterans Health Administration.
NCLEX passage or possession of a U.S. RN license alone does not satisfy this education requirement.
Candidates must also provide three professional references representing at least two employers and complete required VA credentialing and OIG verification.
