Nexus MedPro Staffing is seeking an experienced ICU / High-Acuity Stepdown Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment with Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center – Rapid Response / 5th West Intermediate Care Unit in Winston-Salem, NC.

Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU / PCU / IMC / Stepdown experience
- ACLS required
- BLS/BCLS required
- NIHSS required
- Arterial line experience
- Strong vasoactive and cardiac drip titration experience
- Telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
- Rapid Response experience
- IV starts and conscious sedation
- Central line and PICC management
- Blood product administration
- Heparin and IV insulin protocols
- Chest tubes
- CPAP/BiPAP and HFNC
- Tracheostomy management
- Must pass EKG testing before start
- Epic experience preferred
Unit Details
- High-acuity ICU stepdown environment
- Typical ratio: 1:3–4
- 20-bed unit with average daily census around 18
- Post-Rapid Response patients
- Respiratory distress and unstable hemodynamics
- GI bleeds and withdrawal
- Post-op neuro, orthopedic, GYN, GU, GI, and thoracic patients
- Pre/post OB patients with complications
- Common drips include Cardizem, Nitro, Precedex, Cardene, Levophed, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Neo
- One pressor drip per patient; higher-acuity patients requiring additional pressors transfer to ICU
- No ventilated patients on the unit
- Equipment includes arterial lines, BiPAP, chest tubes, tracheostomies, and bedside telemetry
Scheduling
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required to sister ICCU
- Up to 7 days RTO for Aya auto-offer
- No RTO during first week
- No additional RTO after booking
- Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
- 24-hour orientation
- Navy blue or white scrubs
