Urgent Care Physician Assistant

Assignment Details

• Location: Brentwood and Surrounding Pittsburgh Area, Pennsylvania

Schedule

• Monday-Sunday Coverage
• Shift Hours: 8:00 AM-8:00 PM
• Approximately 20 Shifts Per Month
• No Call
• Provider Will Rotate Between Multiple Urgent Care Locations
• Sites Are Within Approximately 30 Miles of Each Other

Patient Population / Volume

• Patient Population: All Ages, Including Pediatrics Age 6 Months+
• Approximately 3-4 Patients Per Hour

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide Outpatient Urgent Care Services
• Evaluate and Treat Common Acute Illnesses and Minor Injuries
• Treat Cold and Flu Symptoms
• Evaluate and Treat Rashes, Abrasions, and Lacerations
• Manage Sprains and Minor Burns
• Perform Suturing and Wound Care
• Perform Incision and Drainage
• Perform Splinting and Basic Orthopedic Procedures
• Perform and Interpret X-Rays and EKGs
• Perform Blood Draws and Start IVs
• Provide Pediatric Urgent Care
• Refer Higher-Acuity Patients to the Emergency Department
• Work Independently Without Onsite Supervision

• Provider May Work Independently
• If a Physician Is Not Onsite, a Physician Will Be Remotely Available for Escalation

Requirements

• Board Certified - Required
• At Least 2 Years of Clinical Experience in Urgent Care - Required
• Active Pennsylvania License - Required at Time of Application
• Candidates Requiring Licensure Will Not Be Accepted
• DEA Registration - Required
• Pennsylvania CSR License - Required
• ACLS - Required
• BLS - Required
• PALS - Required
• Minimum of 2 Years of Urgent Care Experience OR 1 Year of Emergency Medicine Experience - Required
• Must Be Comfortable Treating Patients of All Ages, Including Pediatrics Age 6 Months+
• Must Be Comfortable With Orthopedic Procedures, Including Splinting
• Must Be Comfortable With Wound Care
• Must Be Comfortable Working Independently
• Drive-In Candidates Within Approximately 2-3 Hours of the Coverage Area - Required
