Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Travel Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide skilled occupational therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT). The COTA will help patients improve their ability to perform daily activities, increase independence, and achieve functional goals.

Responsibilities
Provide occupational therapy treatments according to the established plan of care.
Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including dressing, grooming, bathing, feeding, and toileting.
Provide therapeutic exercises and functional activities to improve strength, coordination, balance, and mobility.
Assist with fine-motor and gross-motor skill development.
Train patients in the safe use of adaptive equipment and assistive devices.
Provide activities designed to improve cognitive, sensory, and functional abilities as appropriate.
Educate patients and caregivers on home programs, safety techniques, and adaptive strategies.
Monitor patient response to treatment and communicate progress or concerns to the supervising OT.
Document treatments, patient response, and progress accurately in the EMR.
Assist with discharge planning and home exercise programs as directed by the OT.
Collaborate with nurses, physicians, physical therapists, speech therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
Follow infection-control, patient-safety, and facility policies.

Requirements
Completion of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program.
Current COTA certification/credential as required by the state and facility.
Active state OTA license in the state of assignment.
Current BLS certification may be required.
Recent occupational therapy assistant experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of therapeutic activities, ADLs, functional mobility, and patient safety.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong documentation and organizational abilities.
Ability to work effectively under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist
