Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Travel EEG Technologist to perform electroencephalogram (EEG) studies used to evaluate and diagnose neurological conditions. The EEG Tech will prepare patients, apply electrodes, operate EEG equipment, monitor recordings, and ensure high-quality diagnostic data for interpretation by neurologists and other providers.

Responsibilities
Perform routine and specialized EEG studies according to physician orders and facility protocols.
Explain EEG procedures to patients and provide appropriate instructions.
Obtain accurate patient histories and relevant clinical information.
Prepare patients and properly apply EEG electrodes using standard placement techniques.
Operate and troubleshoot EEG equipment and recording systems.
Monitor EEG recordings for technical quality and significant changes during testing.
Perform activation procedures such as hyperventilation and photic stimulation when ordered and appropriate.
Perform portable/bedside EEG studies for inpatient and critical-care patients.
Assist with continuous EEG (cEEG) monitoring when required.
Recognize and document clinically significant events during testing and promptly notify appropriate clinical staff according to facility protocols.
Remove electrodes and provide appropriate post-procedure care.
Maintain accurate documentation of EEG studies and patient information.
Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment according to manufacturer and facility standards.
Follow infection-control, patient-safety, and electrical-safety procedures.
Collaborate with neurologists, nurses, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team.

Depending on the assignment, Travel EEG Techs may perform:

Routine EEG
Portable/bedside EEG
Continuous EEG (cEEG)
Long-term EEG monitoring
Video EEG
Sleep-deprived EEG
Pediatric EEG
ICU EEG monitoring
EEG with activation procedures
Requirements
Completion of an accredited EEG/Neurodiagnostic Technology program or equivalent training.
Current EEG/Neurodiagnostic credential when required, such as ABRET R. EEG T.
Active state license/registration if required by the assignment.
Current BLS certification may be required.
Recent EEG/Neurodiagnostic experience.
Knowledge of EEG electrode placement and neurodiagnostic procedures.
Ability to recognize technical artifacts and obtain high-quality recordings.
Experience with inpatient, ICU, portable, or continuous EEG preferred depending on assignment.
Strong patient-care, communication, and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently and collaborate with neurologists and healthcare teams.
