Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Travel Radiation Therapist to provide safe, accurate, and compassionate care to patients undergoing radiation therapy. The Radiation Therapist will operate specialized treatment equipment, deliver prescribed radiation treatments, maintain accurate treatment records, and collaborate with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, dosimetrists, nurses, and other members of the oncology team.

Responsibilities
Administer prescribed radiation treatments according to the patient's treatment plan.
Review treatment plans and verify patient identity, treatment site, and prescribed parameters before treatment.
Operate radiation therapy equipment safely and accurately.
Position and immobilize patients appropriately for treatment.
Perform image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT) procedures as required.
Monitor patients throughout treatment and recognize changes in their condition.
Provide emotional support and education to patients and families.
Maintain accurate treatment records and documentation.
Follow radiation-safety procedures and departmental protocols.
Perform quality-assurance checks and report equipment concerns appropriately.
Collaborate with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, physicists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
Maintain patient privacy, safety, dignity, and confidentiality.
Follow infection-control and workplace-safety procedures.
Equipment & Treatment Experience

Depending on the facility, experience may include:

Linear accelerators (LINAC)
CT simulation
IGRT
IMRT
VMAT
SBRT/SRS
3D conformal radiation therapy
Brachytherapy
Treatment planning and verification systems
Requirements
Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program.
Current ARRT(R)(T) certification.
Active state license where required.
BLS certification may be required.
Recent Radiation Therapist experience.
Strong knowledge of radiation safety, treatment techniques, anatomy, and patient positioning.
Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills.
Strong communication and patient-care skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced oncology environment.
