Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Travel Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to support surgical teams in providing safe and efficient patient care throughout operative procedures. The Surgical Tech will prepare the operating room, maintain the sterile field, pass instruments, and assist surgeons and nurses before, during, and after surgery.

Responsibilities
Prepare operating rooms for scheduled surgical procedures.
Review surgical schedules and gather appropriate instruments, equipment, supplies, and implants.
Set up and maintain the sterile field.
Perform surgical counts of instruments, sponges, needles, and other supplies.
Assist with patient positioning and surgical site preparation.
Perform surgical skin preparation according to facility protocols.
Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons during procedures.
Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and surgical team.
Maintain strict sterile technique throughout procedures.
Assist with specimen handling, labeling, and delivery according to policy.
Operate and assist with surgical equipment and technology.
Assist with room turnover and preparation for subsequent procedures.
Maintain appropriate documentation and follow hospital policies.
Follow infection-control, safety, and surgical standards.
Assist with emergency surgical procedures when required.

Requirements
Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential, commonly through NBSTSA, when required.
Active state registration/license if required by the assignment.
Current BLS certification.
Recent operating room/surgical technology experience.
Strong knowledge of sterile technique and surgical procedures.
Ability to anticipate surgical team needs.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operating-room environment.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
