Description
Position: Speech Language Pathologist
Location: Sierra Vista, Arizona
Contract Length: 36 weeks
Weekly Compensation: Up to $65/Hr, based on experience
Job Description:
As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will assess, diagnose, and treat students with speech, language, and communication disorders. You will collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to provide personalized therapy and interventions to help students succeed academically and socially. Your expertise will support students in developing critical communication skills necessary for their educational success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess students' speech, language, and communication skills to identify challenges and determine therapy needs.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address communication disorders, including speech articulation, language comprehension, fluency, and voice.
- Provide direct therapy services to students in both individual and small group settings.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school professionals to integrate speech and language goals into classroom activities.
- Monitor student progress, adjust therapy goals, and provide ongoing support to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Participate in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings, offering insights and recommendations for speech and language services.
- Maintain accurate documentation of therapy sessions, progress, and treatment plans.
- Educate and guide teachers and parents in strategies to support communication development in the classroom and at home.
- Stay up to date with the latest research, techniques, and best practices in speech-language therapy.
Education + Certification Requirements:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid Arizona State License as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred.
- Previous experience working in a school or pediatric setting is preferred.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to develop and implement effective therapy plans tailored to students' needs.
- Knowledge of IEP development and experience with IEP documentation.
