Mammography Tech  – 8hr days – UTMB Jennie Sealy - Galveston, TX 

Job Summary: Operates radiologic equipment and performs mammography, biopsy, ultrasound and bone density procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease by performing the following duties.

Start date: 1/5/26
Contract length: 13 weeks
Guaranteed hours: 40 - No guaranteed hours first 2 weeks of contract
Primary location: UTMB Galveston Jennie Sealy - Galveston, TX 
Shift Requirements: 8hr days (Wed-Fri;, 8a-4:30p) Sat-Sun (7:30a-4p)
Float Requirements: units alike skillset
Weekend requirements:  Working every Saturday and Sunday
Holiday requirement: Holiday rotation  
On call/Call Back: unknown, please discuss with hiring manager
EMR: EPIC

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
•    Associate's degree or radiologic graduate of an accredited radiography program.
•    3+ years  of  mammography imaging experience required 
•    8 hrs. initial digital  training
•    8 hrs. initial tomosynthesis training
•    Knowledge of bone densitometry, breast ultrasound, and breast biopsy procedures

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:
•    American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
•    Texas Medical Board certification
•    Mammography Registry through ARRT (M)
•    American Heart Association BLS

Equipment used: Hologic 3 Dimensions (all campuses), GE Bariatric bone density (Galveston & LCC campuses)

Parking rate is $2.00 per hour or any part of an hour up to $14.00 maximum for the day. Payment should be made to the booth attendant upon exiting and can be made by cash, check, or credit card. During the times that an attendant is not on duty; payment will be made to the night machine upon exiting.

Available Epic Training and HCSS Traveler orientation dates: 
•    January 5th, 2026 -  HCSS virtual orientation; January 6th, 2025 -  in-person Epic training (all in-person training is held at the UTMB Galveston campus)
