Position Overview

As a Travel Occupational Therapist, you will work with residents in a long-term care setting to help them regain and maintain independence in daily living activities. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized treatment plans that improve patients’ mobility, strength, and functional performance.

Occupational Therapist Job Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients’ physical, cognitive, and functional abilities to develop individualized therapy plans

• Provide occupational therapy treatments focused on improving daily living skills, mobility, and independence

• Assist patients with adaptive techniques and equipment to improve functional outcomes

• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly

• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapy techniques and home programs

• Maintain accurate patient documentation in compliance with facility and regulatory standards

• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, PTs, and therapy staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes

• Participate in care planning meetings and interdisciplinary discussions

Education & Certification Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program

• Active Texas Occupational Therapist license (or ability to obtain)

• NBCOT certification required

• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification preferred

• Previous experience in Long-Term Care, Skilled Nursing, or Rehab settings preferred

• Strong communication and patient care skills
