Local Travel Orthopedic Technologist – Rancho Mirage, CA
13-Week Contract | Up to $1,800 Weekly (Based on Experience)
Connected Health Care, a leading recruitment and staffing firm, is currently seeking a skilled Orthopedic Technologist for a 13-week local travel contract with one of our trusted healthcare partners in Rancho Mirage, California. Position Overview
As an Orthopedic Technologist, you will assist physicians and physician assistants with patient care and orthopedic procedures. This position requires strong clinical and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide compassionate care across all patient populations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist orthopedic physicians/PAs with patient care, including casting, splinting, and care of orthopedic devices such as external fixators
- Support patient intake, rooming, and documentation
- Demonstrate compliance with all clinic policies and Code of Conduct
- Prepare and maintain clean, organized treatment and exam rooms
- Anticipate physician needs and prepare necessary supplies prior to procedures
- Apply and remove orthopedic devices (casts, splints, braces) for patients of all ages
- Manage patient phone calls and documentation efficiently and professionally
- Assist with pre-surgical documentation, DME applications, and patient chart preparation
- Stay current with new orthopedic techniques and equipment through continuing education
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; higher-level degree required
- Licensure/Certification: Orthopedic Technologist Certification and American Heart Association BLS required
- Experience: Orthopedic experience preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in operating standard office and clinical equipment
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to provide professional and compassionate patient care
