Travel Registered Nurse – Critical Care | Athens, GA
8-Week Travel Contract | Up to $2,000/Week Based on Experience
Connected Health Care, a premier recruitment and healthcare staffing firm, is partnering with a respected healthcare facility in Athens, Georgia to hire a Local Travel Registered Nurse with Critical Care experience for an 8-week contract assignment. This role requires recent critical care nursing experience, preferably in ICU, Step-Down, or LTAC settings, with a strong focus on caring for patients requiring advanced monitoring and ventilator support.
Position Overview
The Critical Care Registered Nurse will provide comprehensive patient care for individuals with complex medical conditions requiring advanced nursing interventions. The RN will collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes while delivering compassionate, high-quality care.
Job Responsibilities
• Provide direct nursing care to critically ill patients with complex medical conditions
• Monitor and assess patient status, including vital signs, neurological status, and cardiac rhythms
• Care for patients requiring ventilator support and advanced respiratory interventions
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and specialized treatments as ordered by physicians
• Collaborate with respiratory therapists and care teams to manage ventilated patients
• Respond to changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient documentation in accordance with hospital protocols
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, recovery expectations, and care needs
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and contribute to care planning
• Ensure compliance with patient safety, infection control, and regulatory standards
Critical Care RN Requirements
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in ICU or Step-Down units
• Experience in LTAC settings highly preferred
• Must be comfortable caring for ventilator-dependent patients
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to manage complex patient conditions and rapidly changing clinical situations
Education & Certification Requirements
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Georgia or eligibility to obtain
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required
• Experience with ventilated patients strongly preferred
