8-Week Travel Contract | Up to $1,900/Week (Based on Experience)

Connected Health Care, a leading recruitment and staffing firm, is partnering with a respected healthcare provider in Athens, Georgia to hire a Local Travel Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for an 8-week contract assignment. Position Overview
The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) will provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients requiring advanced airway management and ventilator support. This role involves working closely with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality respiratory therapy services in a tracheostomy and ventilator-focused unit.
Job Responsibilities
• Assess, treat, and monitor patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions
• Manage and maintain mechanical ventilators, including ventilator setup, monitoring, and troubleshooting
• Provide care for patients with tracheostomies and ventilator dependence
• Administer respiratory therapies including oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and airway clearance techniques
• Perform arterial blood gas sampling and interpret results to adjust respiratory care plans
• Respond to rapid response and code situations as part of the respiratory care team
• Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to develop individualized respiratory treatment plans
• Educate patients and families on respiratory therapies and disease management
• Ensure accurate documentation in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards
• Maintain respiratory therapy equipment and ensure compliance with infection control standards
Education & Certification Requirements
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
• Active Georgia Respiratory Care License or eligibility to obtain
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
• Minimum 1–2 years of respiratory therapy experience, preferably in acute care or ventilator management settings
• Strong experience with tracheostomy care and mechanical ventilation highly preferred
