Requirements:  2 years of Echocardiographer experience

-American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required. -American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). OR -Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) certification in cardiac ultrasound. AND -Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) from ARDMS within 12 months of start. OR -Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) from CCI within 12 months of start.

Echocardiographer

Job Summary:
The Echocardiographer is responsible for performing Transthoracic echocardiograms, setting up and assisting with Transesophageal Echocardiograms, and, under the direction of a trained echocardiographer, setting up and performing exercise and Dobutamine Stress Echocardiograms to the standards set forth by the American Society of Echocardiography and Froedtert Hospital. This individual demonstrates increasing competency in delivery of care to a primarily adult population. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of experience as a cardiac sonographer.
- Proficiency in performing routine and emergency echocardiograms, including 2-dimensional, 3-dimensional, Doppler, and Transesophageal echocardiograms.
- Ability to provide echocardiography services at various locations, including variable shifts, weekends, and emergent call coverage.
- Competence in operating equipment necessary for procedures and obtaining optimal images using ancillary devices.
- Knowledge of basic cardiac pathology and ability to analyze patient medical records for diagnostic procedures.
- Preparation of preliminary reports for review and interpretation by Cardiologists.
- Maintenance of equipment, including cleaning, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs.
- Participation in quality improvement activities and evaluation of procedure results for technical quality and accuracy.
- Pre- and post-procedure patient instruction.
- Utilization of ultrasound contrast according to ASE guidelines and department policy.

Required Education:
- Completion of a two-year Allied Health degree.
- Successful completion of a 12-month CAAHEP-approved School of Ultrasound Technology, Cardiovascular Technology, or equivalent education.

Required Certifications & Licensure:
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA-approved equivalent.
- American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) certification in cardiac ultrasound.
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) from ARDMS or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) from CCI within 12 months of start.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous healthcare-related training such as CNA, EMT, PCA, or similar.
