RN Corrections for Juvenile Detention Center - WellPath (Travel)

136 N Western Ave, Chicago, IL 60612, United States

Position Overview:
Join our team as a Registered Nurse at the IL Youth Center, a Juvenile Detention Facility dedicated to providing secure, temporary housing for youth aged 10 to 16 awaiting adjudication. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young individuals in a correctional setting.

Schedule & Duration:

13-week assignment starting April 20, 2026
5x8 evening shifts (8 hours per shift)
Guaranteed 40 hours per week

Pay & Benefits:

Hourly rate: $20.00
Weekly housing stipend: $1,000
Weekly pay rate (including OT): $47/$71
First-time travelers accepted
Local candidates welcome after two weeks of employment

Responsibilities:

Provide direct nursing care to juvenile detainees in a correctional environment
Assess and monitor health conditions of youth, including administering medications
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
Document all nursing activities accurately and timely
Follow facility policies, safety protocols, and confidentiality standards
Respond effectively to emergencies and provide first aid as needed

Qualifications:

Valid Registered Nurse license in Illinois or qualified state
No minimum experience required, but previous correctional or pediatric experience is a plus
Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and compassion
Strong communication and organizational skills
