Respiratory Therapist - Emergency Department (ER) | Bangor, ME | Contract

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our team in Bangor, ME, at a leading acute-care hospital. This position is in the Emergency Department (ER) and requires a commitment to providing high-quality care to patients with various respiratory conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide respiratory care to patients in critical care settings, including Adult ICUs, Emergency Department, and General Medical Floors.
  • Manage airway and ventilator support, perform ABG puncture and analysis, and administer inhaled medications.
  • Utilize various equipment such as Servo U, Servo I, Hamilton T1, Trilogy, V60, V30, EV300, and Vero Biotech Nitric Delivery.
  • Participate in code blue and rapid response situations as needed.
  • Document patient care using the Cerner charting system.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred; candidates with a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) will be considered with extensive experience.
  • Required certifications include BLS; additional certifications for NICU/PICU/Peds RT include BLS & NRP (required) and PALS (preferred).
  • Experience with Oscillator 3100 Sensormatic and Drager ventilators is beneficial.
  • Comfortable working with adult patients, even if assigned to NICU/PICU/Peds.

Work Environment:

  • Float to other trained units may be required.
  • Orientation includes 1 general shift with the RT Educator and additional shifts for each unit trained to.
  • Shift times are from 0645-1915 for days and 1845-0715 for nights, with most needs on nights.
  • Weekend rotation is every other weekend, and voluntary call is available.
  • Free on-site parking is provided.
