We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Respiratory Therapist to join our team in a leading acute-care hospital located in Bangor, ME. This contract position in the Emergency Department (ER) offers a dynamic work environment with a focus on critical care. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality respiratory care to patients with a variety of conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide respiratory care for patients in a Level II Trauma Center, including adults with conditions such as COPD, CHF, Cystic Fibrosis, ARDS, and more.
- Perform airway and ventilator management, ABG puncture and analysis, and non-invasive ventilation.
- Administer inhaled medications and participate in code blue and rapid response situations.
- Utilize advanced equipment including Servo U, Servo I, Hamilton T1, Trilogy, V60, V30, and EV300.
- Collaborate with a critical care-focused and protocol-driven RT team.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification is preferred; candidates with CRT and extensive experience may be considered.
- Required certifications include BLS; BLS & NRP for NICU/PICU/Peds RT (PALS preferred).
- Experience with Oscillator 3100 Sensormatic and Drager ventilator is beneficial.
- Comfortable working with adult patients is required.
Work Environment:
- Float to other trained units only.
- General orientation with RT Educator followed by unit-specific training shifts.
- Shift times are 0645-1915 for days and 1845-0715 for nights, with most needs on nights.
- Weekend rotation is every other weekend; voluntary call is available.
- Free on-site parking is provided.
