Join a dedicated team as a Respiratory Therapist in the Emergency Department (ER) at a leading Level II trauma center in Bangor, ME. This contract position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on critical care. We are seeking experienced Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRT) who are passionate about patient care and are ready to make a difference.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide respiratory care to patients with a variety of conditions including COPD, CHF, Cystic Fibrosis, ARDS, and more.
- Perform critical care procedures including airway and ventilator management, ABG puncture and analysis, and non-invasive ventilation.
- Administer inhaled medications and participate in code blue and rapid response situations.
- Utilize advanced equipment such as Servo U, Servo I, Hamilton T1, and Trilogy.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including Lead/Charge RT, Manager, Assistant Manager, and RT Educator.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
- Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT); candidates with CRT will be considered based on experience.
- Required certifications: BLS; NICU/PICU/Peds RT must have BLS & NRP (PALS preferred).
- Experience with critical care and familiarity with ventilators is essential.
- Comfortable working with adult patients; NICU/PICU experience is required if applicable.
Work Schedule:
- Shifts: 48 hours variable, with most needs on nights.
- Weekend rotation: Every other weekend.
- Voluntary call only, with a 2-hour notice before and after shift start time.
- Orientation includes 1 general shift with RT Educator and additional shifts for unit training.
