We are seeking a dedicated Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in Seattle, WA. This is a contract position in a high-risk, high-volume Labor & Delivery unit. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of experience with high-risk patients and be comfortable working in fast-paced, high-acuity environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide care for midwifery clients and support adult recovery services, including substance recovery.
• Float to sister facilities that provide Mother/Baby care as needed.
• Function as the Baby Nurse during deliveries and continue care of the newborn until transfer to postpartum.
• Administer medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate as required.
• Conduct newborn assessments and provide necessary care, including administering Vitamin K injections.
• Follow AWHONN guidelines for staffing and patient care.

Unit Details:

• Average daily census: 15 patients/day
• Deliveries: 500-600 per month
• Number of ORs: 4
• Number of Beds: 31
• Schedule: Posted every 6 weeks to meet unit needs

Certifications:

• Required: BLS, NRP
• Preferred: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate

This position requires working every other weekend and holidays as needed. Pre-approved time off will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Candidates must possess an active compact license and be willing to float as necessary.
