We are seeking a skilled ICU Registered Nurse to join our team at a leading acute-care hospital in Roanoke, VA. This contract position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where your expertise will make a significant impact on patient care.
Position: RN- ICU/PCU Float (MUST be comfortable working ALL ICU and PCU units)
SCHEDULING DETAILS
- Contract Length/Shift Details: 3x12s, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM
- Charting: EPIC experience required
- Floating: Staffing needs are re-evaluated every 4 hours, so travelers could float 2-3 times per shift (up to every 4 hours)
- Weekend Requirement: May be every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block
- Holiday Requirement: Must work one holiday per 13-week contract
- Accept First-Time Travelers: Yes
- Locals Accepted? Yes, radius rule applies
- RTO, Block & Special Scheduling Requests: All requests must be included with the submission
- Call Off Policy: Facility is allowed to call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
REQUIRED LICENSE & CERTIFICATIONS
- ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- Pending License Accepted: Yes, only if the candidate holds a single-state license from a non-compact state. Otherwise, submission must include an active Virginia State or Compact RN/LPN license
REQUIRED CLINICAL SKILLS
- IV therapy: arterial line management, central/PICC line care, blood product administration, IV initiation & maintenance
- Respiratory support: BiPAP & CPAP management, ventilated patient care
- Medication administration: continuous IV sedation, emergency meds, titration of cardiac & vasoactive drips
- Wound care: surgical wounds with drains or wound vacs
- Cardiac monitoring: dysrhythmia interpretation & management
- Endocrine/metabolic: IV insulin protocol adherence
- ICU Experience
- Experience at a Large Level 1/2 Facility required
- Prefer Candidates with 2+ years experience
