Join a leading healthcare provider as an IMC Registered Nurse in Charlotte, NC, specializing in IMC/IMU/PCU/STEPDOWN. This contract position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on neurological and medical intermediate patients. We are looking for dedicated professionals who thrive in a teamwork-oriented atmosphere and adhere to high behavioral expectations in all interactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the IMC/IMU/PCU/STEPDOWN unit.
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, manage dysrhythmias, and respond to emergencies.
- Administer medications and manage IV therapies, including titration of insulin and vasoactive drips.
- Perform patient assessments and document care using EPIC.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Required Skills and Certifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a Neuro Stepdown, PCU, or similar setting.
- ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications are mandatory.
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, and patient management in a telemetry environment.
- Ability to titrate LEVO and adhere to strict call-off policies.
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with triage, ICP monitoring, and conscious sedation.
- Additional certifications such as CCRN, TNCC, and CPI are a plus.
This position requires a commitment to teamwork and adherence to policies, including a strong emphasis on behavioral expectations. The unit operates with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4 and has an average daily census of 24 patients.
Additional Details:
- Shift: 12-hour nights from 18:45 to 07:15.
- Weekend Requirement: Minimum of 3 weekend shifts every six weeks.
- Unit Orientation: 32 hours, including a computer class and two shifts on the unit.
- Scrubs: Not provided; navy blue and white combinations are acceptable.
