Join a leading acute-care hospital in Omaha, NE, as a Med Surg/Telemetry Registered Nurse. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment focused on providing exceptional care to trauma patients. As a traveler, you will be expected to float frequently to meet the staffing needs of the hospital.

The unit is a 45-bed medical/surgical area that specializes in the acute and chronic needs of hemodynamically and medically stable trauma patients. You will be part of a dedicated team that includes care techs, transport teams, and LPNs, ensuring comprehensive patient care. The nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1:5 during the day and 1:6 at night, with rare instances of 1:7 at night depending on staffing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a trauma-focused environment.
• Utilize EPIC charting for patient documentation.
• Float within scope as needed to meet facility demands.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements:

• 2 years of prior experience in a large, urban hospital.
• BLS certification required.
• Experience with drips is necessary.
• First-time travelers are not accepted unless they have 2 years of experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center.
• 100% nicotine-free facility.

Additional Information:

• Weekends: 4 weekend shifts out of 8 possible in a 4-week period (Saturday and Sunday days, Friday and Saturday nights).
• RTO restrictions: Up to two weeks of RTO permitted, must be submitted with application.
• Holiday Requirement: Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s).
• Locals are not accepted (must be more than 100 miles from the facility).
• Pending licenses are accepted, but if the license is not in hand at the time of submission, the traveler will be booked six weeks out.
• Scrubs are mandatory; RNs wear Steele gray scrubs with the Nebraska Medicine logo.
• Parking permits are available (approx. $55/month) or daily rate parking ($3 for 20 hours).
