Join our team as a PCU Registered Nurse at a leading acute-care hospital in Overland Park, KS. We are seeking dedicated and skilled RNs for a contract position in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/Step Down. This is a fantastic opportunity for nurses looking to expand their experience in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the PCU, ensuring their comfort and safety.
• Monitor patient conditions and interpret telemetry readings, including dysrhythmias.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including IV therapy and blood product administration.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Perform pre/post cardiac catheterization care and manage patients with various conditions such as sepsis, renal failure, and stroke.
• Participate in charge nurse assignments and holiday shifts as needed.

Requirements:

• Experience: 1 to 2 years of nursing experience required; first-timers accepted.
• Certifications: BLS and NIHSS required; ACLS preferred.
• Skills: Proficient in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and managing complex patient needs.
• Floating: This is a float pool position; clinicians will float between approximately 5 units, including Med/Surg Intermediate/PCU Departments.
• Weekend Requirement: 8 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule period, combination of Friday/Saturday/Sunday.
• Guaranteed Hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks.
